your future in israel lies in Yerucham.
The Nativ College Leadership Program is a nine month gap year program in Israel for students who have just graduated high school. The first semester of the year is spent in Jerusalem studying at Hebrew University, the Conservative Yeshiva, or Ulpan, and the second semester is spent volunteering in the Kfar Hasidim Youth Village in the north or in Yerucham in the Negev Desert.
Volunteering activities in Yerucham ranges from teaching English in one of the elementary or high schools (religious and secular schools), playing with babies and little kids in the Gan (Kindergarten), working shifts with Magen David Adom (National EMS system), and working with the Municipality on cleaning and renovating the city. While in Yerucham, Nativers live on their own in apartments or houses in a small town (population 10,000) with a staff apartment nearby.
After volunteering activites are done for the day, Nativers are welcome to participate in the various activities for children, teenagers, or adults around town. Some of these activities include working with the world champion robotics team, playing with the symphony orchestra, teaching English to citizens of the town during Cafe Anglit (English Cafe), working with the scouts, or anything else you can think of.
